Strategic Planning
Come with your ideas, in your head or on a napkin, and let's talk. In this customized discovery phase, we'll take stock of where you are in your business, what your goals are, and the best way to get there.
Are you reaching your ideal customers?
Communicating in your own voice?
Clear about your offerings to your clients?
This is where we create a roadmap to move your project forward.
Copywriting & Communication
Your business's voice. Communication can range from writing copy for your website, print materials, and newsletter. It's where we'll create concise, meaningful, and consistent content that is tailored to your audience. You can think of it as branding with words.
Obviously, no one knows your business like you do. I'll rely on you to help with the framework and then I'm happy to take the reins.
SEO & Website Maintenance
Having a website that looks good is just half of it. What you don't see (but Google does) is the back-end titles, tags, Alt text, headings and the like.
When designing sites, it's kind of a reverse mullet — this is the party up front and all business in the back. Let's make sure that the search engines find what we've created and that is through SEO.
Having a beautiful website is important, but it doesn't do much good if people can't find it. Search engine optimization, as part of the website structure and after it's launched as well as edits to the site are an ongoing process.
If you just plant the garden, water once, take some pictures and then walk away, you know that your garden will be overrun with weeds in no time. Websites are the same way - they just need a little bit of TLC to keep them in tip-top shape. Some clients want to do this on their own, which is great, but most prefer that I continue to "tend the garden" and make edits (i.e. project updates, add photos to the gallery, post a monthly special, etc.) to keep it consistent.
Blog Posts, Newsletters & Staying in Front of Your Customers
There are so many platforms for reaching your audience, how do you know which ones to choose? Overwhelmed by the idea of having ten different accounts and not know how to set it up, what to say, or when to say it?
Deep breath. Together we can discuss what is the best way for staying in touch with your clients. Some love social media and that works really well for them. Others prefer writing blogs and newsletters. And some want to do it all — and that's commendable.
We'll again look at business goals and select the best path for reaching and growing your audience. To that end, I can assist with setup and on-going writing for blogs and newsletters. Also happy to help with setup of social media accounts but I do not offer on-going social media management.
Website & Copy Review
Already have a website, brochure, and monthly newsletter? Excellent! Want another set of eyes on it? No problem.
If you've been in business for a while, you're going to have marketing materials. If they want to keep what you have but update it, I'm happy to help.
*I only update websites when the client has control over the site and the content isn't being managed by someone else. I appreciate your understanding that I don't want to step on someone else's toes, and besides, too many cooks in the kitchen makes for headaches.
Branding
In branding, we're creating a graphical depiction of your business story that, when done well, prompts a reaction.
This can include custom logo design and/or refreshing your current logo, marketing collateral like business cards, web and social media graphics, and other specialized design projects. Our goal is clean, clear, and consistent messaging that evokes the desired emotional response from your audience.
*Branding and marketing materials are only available to businesses that go through the start up package. If you're only need logo and graphic design services, I'm happy to refer you to some incredibly talented folks.
Web Design
This is the biggie for most. It's your online business card and your portal to the world. I know when I'm looking for information about a business, the first thing I do is Google it. And if they don't have a website, or sometimes worse, they do and it's horribly outdated, I typically look for someone else.
The sites that I design are custom built for you based upon your business type and goals. Based upon your needs, I'll recommend a platform that will work best for you. Most of my sites are done on Wix, but will work with industry-specific hosted websites, Squarespace, and Shopify for e-commerce.
And yes, if you were inspired by the commercials and started your own website (because they made it look really easy!) and are now stuck, I'm glad to finish your project.
CRMs & Industry Specific Operations Optimization
There are a number of tools, many industry specific, to manage, communicate, and keep track of prospects, clients, and tasks.
For example, :
-
If you're a realtor, do you want IDX listings on your website where people looking to buy a home can receive a notification when a house that meets their specific criteria is listed on the market?
-
If you manage vacation rentals, do you want to integrate a channel manager so you can book your cabin on VRBO and direct on your site? How to keep up so that there aren't double bookings?
-
Of what about a moving company, how do you manage drivers, supplies, on-site estimates, and automated notifications?
These are just three examples of clients that are benefitting from industry-specific CRMs (customer relationship management) software. Known as SAAS (software as a service), these are typically monthly subscriptions that allow you to streamline your daily operations.
While time-consuming to research and setup, they become invaluable tools for optimizing your business. After understanding your business, budget, needs and preferences, I do the research, come back with three options, and then setup and customize the CRM for you including importing contacts, setting up email templates, syncing calendars, etc. When it's up & running, we then do a training together.
If you are interested in taking your business to the next level, let's discuss if a CRM is right for you.
Business Development, Consulting & On-Going Support
Now we step back, look at our plan, see what's working and what needs to be changed. We'll keep track of how your website is doing through analytics, look at your newsletter open and click-through rates, and compare it against what you're seeing.
What value are you providing to your customers and are we communicating that effectively? We'll fine-tune where necessary to align with your initial goals.
Working with my clients, more often the not, the relationship continues well-beyond the launch. I'll be in your corner, cheering you on, and available as a resource moving forward. This extends beyond the monthly maintenance to your site or any other arrangement we have; one of my favorite things is to hear from clients that I played a part in their great success.
